ACADEMICS:

  • Marlboro Academy maintains a traditional, college preparatory curriculum with honors classes offered beginning in the eighth grade for math and English and in the ninth grade for science as well. Marlboro Academy operates on a six period day, with two semesters consisting of two nine-week grading periods.
  • Marlboro Academy is accredited by the South Carolina Independent School Association.
  • Marlboro Academy calculates a student’s GPA using the South Carolina Uniform Grading Policy
  • Grading Scale: A (90-100), B (80-89), C (70-79), D (60-69), F (Below 60)
  • All students will have completed the SC CHE high school course prerequisites before graduation.

Testing

Students in grades K-9 annually take the Stanford 10 Achievement Test.  Also, each year, students in grades 2, 5, and 7 take the OLSAT, and the PSAT is administered on campus to students is grades 8-11.  Students normally begin taking the SAT and/or the ACT at the end of their sophomore year.
